64 GB of RAM… worth upgrading?

Is it worth going for 64 GB of RAM or is it overkill? The laptop has a Ryzen 8845HS and is used mainly for coding: IntelliJ suite, VS Code, Docker, Windows, Linux, etc. Currently, I have 32 GB, which works fine most of the time. Thoughts?

Do you max out 32 GB currently?

On Linux, not really. On Windows, I’m not sure because I rarely use it. But I’d like the option to use Windows without running out of memory.

Why not boot into Windows, use it for a bit, and check task manager to see how much you’re using?

Fair point, but setting up all my tools on another system takes time. I was more curious about others’ experiences rather than basic troubleshooting tips.

Ultimately, it depends on your workflow. If you can afford it, maxing out RAM doesn’t hurt. Future-proofing might save you upgrades later.

What kind of RAM are you considering? DDR4 or DDR5?
