I am considering purchasing a gaming laptop. I also use it for casual gaming, LLM development, and machine learning. Two choices:
Asus Tuf F15: 512G Storage, RTX4060, i7-13620H
Asus ROG strix G16: Intel Core i7-13650HX, Radeon RX 4050, 16GB RAM, 1TB storage, improved MS Office display
Would you kindly recommend one to me?

The decision is challenging. In my opinion, I would suggest the TUF model. The 4060 GPU in the TUF model is quite good, while the 4050 variant is less so. If you’re an avid gamer, the TUF would be a better choice. However, if you’re planning to run more CPU-demanding applications, you might consider the ROG, which is Asus’ premium line.

When it comes to machine learning and large language models (LLM) creation, are they primarily dependent on the CPU alone?
I’m not an authority, but my understanding is that it involves both the CPU and GPU.
I lean towards the ROG model, considering its superior processor. Given your use case doesn’t require heavy graphics, the 4050 should be sufficient.
I would argue that machine learning is a GPU-intensive activity.
