Got drunk and puked on my Lenovo Ideapad gaming 3... Can I clean under the keys or will professionals handle it?

Is there a problem with the fact that I don’t smoke weed?

@Bennie
I didn’t know at the time I asked.

Right up until “infestation” I wasn’t sure if you were talking about roaches or roaches

Cockroaches :cockroach: Not blunt roaches (cig butts) :woozy_face:

@Kingsley
Same. I’ve had plenty of people hand me a phone for repair, and after I ask what happened to it, they go, “I dropped it in the toilet.” Like bro, why did you let me touch this thing?

No professional is touching that biohazard. The best you can do is get some isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush and scrub it out.

First of all, I hope you’re okay - with the hangover and in general.

To clean this, ensure the laptop is powered off and unplugged. Then, grab some isopropyl alcohol. Do not dilute it with water; we want to avoid any more moisture than necessary. Use an old toothbrush (better yet, a new 99c throwaway brush from your local supermarket) and dip it in the alcohol. Use the toothbrush to clean the tops of the keys and in between the keys as best you can.

To get underneath the keys, you may be able to GENTLY pull on them and lift them from their hinges. Be careful not to snap or break anything; otherwise, you’ll have a whole new set of problems. For more details, you might want to check an owner’s manual (try looking it up online by searching your laptop model).

I hope this helps. Best of luck!

I would strongly advise against this. I’ve broken the keys on my laptop trying this before. They’re not meant to do that.

Instead, you can open the laptop as if you were replacing the keyboard (not hard to find a tutorial online).
