Has my RAM exploded?

I have a Dell Latitude E7250 that keeps showing “No boot device found” every time I try to restart it. I suspect the issue might be the SSD, so I opened it up, but everything seems normal. However, one of the RAM sticks looks like something may have exploded or popped. Sorry for the poor camera quality my phone is not the greatest. Any insights or advice would be appreciated!

It might be corrosion or thermal paste; rams don’t explode like that.

I was going to make a joke about memory, but I forgot.

I am also going to respond to you, but I forgot what I was supposed to write.

I was going to laugh at this, but I’m having difficulty reading it.

What did the RAM in slot 1 say to the RAM in slot 2?

I don’t know; they communicated in binary!

Take my vote, buddy :joy:

No boot device indicates there is nothing to boot with, such as no Windows on your SSD or no SSD at all. It should still be possible to access BIOS via a shortcut; there, you can see which boot devices are identified, and your SSD will be visible if it is present. If not, it indicates that it is either dead or not correctly attached. Sometimes simply unplugging and replugging helps.

I neglected to explain, but the second image shows the other unaffected RAM stick. Everything else refers to the stick-in issue. Thanks! Thank you to everyone who responded/upvoted! I concluded that it was just thermal paste. Finally, I converted my firmware from legacy to UEFI, which resolved my issue. I learned a thing or two today
