In my simple opinion, I am sure this can be fixed.
This happened with my old laptop I just dealt with it by holding the broken part together when opening and closeting
That too lid will have to be changed. Easily salvageable.
Maybe you can repair your near laptop shop first repair otherwise you display will be gone
Change the back cover and the hinges and you will be fine. If the screen doesnt work then that too.
Or you can take off the screen completely and use it as a desktop pc with a external monitor.
Depends on if things are damaged or disconnected and what your skill level is
Just keep the lid closed–connect an external monitor… Boom problem solved.
Settings to do inside the Win OS:
Power & Sleep settings > Additional power settings > (left tree) Choose what closing the lid does > When I close the lid: Do NOTHING [on battery] / Do nothing [plugging in]
My gfs laptop broke like this, after alot of super glue and pressure its as good as new
This happened to my legion 7i. Never buying that again.
Do you travel a lot with the laptop?
Had something similar happen to my own laptop, I just gorilla-glued it back together, works fine now. I don’t think mine was as bad as yours though
Get a quote AND look up used laptops on Marketplace or ebay. It may not be worth it to repair such an old laptop
I think this is an HP laptop, because you seem to have a Hinge Problem.
