Is this laptop suitable for rendering and school work?

An Apple Silicon MacBook is a better choice than any Intel model.

This is not a good choice for the tasks you’re looking to accomplish.

Consider a used M1 MacBook on eBay instead. Intel MacBooks don’t offer good value anymore.

Save up for an M series MacBook Air with 16GB of RAM, if possible.

This is not a recommended purchase.

This model is considered very outdated by current standards.

You can find M1 MacBook Air models with better specs for a similar price. Avoid Intel-based MacBooks.

For a student, investing in a Mac may not be the best use of funds, especially if you need Microsoft Office for school.

Office applications are readily available on macOS, just as they are on Windows.

You could get a more cost-effective Windows laptop instead.

My point was about software availability, not cost-effectiveness.

My misunderstanding. However, pirating software is more challenging on Macs, which could be a consideration for some users.

@Gale
Piracy shouldn’t be a factor when choosing a laptop. Legitimate software solutions like Office 365 are affordable.

In some countries, even discounted software can be expensive due to currency conversion rates.
