This seems obvious. My grandma could tell that battery needs to be replaced immediately!

Exactly my thoughts.

Thanks for confirming. I’ll get a replacement soon. The battery still works for now, but I’ll stop using it until it’s replaced.
@Camden
Good decision. Even if it still works, using it could be a serious safety hazard.
Why replace it? Wait for it to explode and upgrade to a new laptop! That’s a smart move, right?
This is what we call a spicy pillow situation.
Looks like two of the cells are swollen, so yes, you should replace it ASAP.

I’ll follow your advice. Thanks! I’ll also check the battery on my other older laptop. Luckily, I mostly use my desktop these days.
While you’re at it, maybe check the hard drive too.
No need to replace it, just reinstall the current one. That’ll fix it, right?
Congrats, you’ve got yourself a set of swollen battery cells! Seriously though, replace it before it becomes a bigger problem.
Do you like being safe? Then yes, replace it.
Obviously, yes.
For reference, a healthy battery should have a flat surface. Bulging is a clear sign it’s time for a replacement. Also, check if your trackpad is uneven—it’s a common side effect of a swollen battery.
What do you think? It’s obviously not safe to keep using it.

I noticed the swelling when I opened it to replace the hard drive. I’ll order a new battery soon. For now, I’ve unplugged the laptop to avoid any issues.
@Camden
Good call. Keep in mind, a swollen battery is a major fire risk. I once had a MacBook battery swell up and explode in my hands. It’s no joke.

Should I remove it now or wait until the replacement arrives? I’ve already unplugged it.
@Camden
Take it out now for your safety. Even the smallest puncture could lead to a fire.
