I’m planning to use it mainly for playing FF7 Remake and God of War on performance mode. I hope it can handle these games.
Give it a try first.
Yes, return it. The MSI Thin model has poor cooling with only one fan, a weak 50-60W GPU, and subpar build quality.

I agree, one fan isn’t enough. My HP Pavilion also has one fan and barely cools its i5-1155g7 processor.

A 50-60W GPU can manage heat better, but yes, the build quality is a concern.
Send it back and consider an Asus or Acer instead, they offer better quality for the price.
You’ll likely need to run it on very low settings. I’ve also heard negative things about MSI’s lower-end models.
The price is okay, but MSI laptops, especially budget models, aren’t well-made. Check if there are any deals at Best Buy or Micro Centers. There’s an Asus TUF with an RX7700S sometimes available for around $700.
@Peyton
Is it this one? Asus TUF Gaming A16
@Hartley
Yes, that’s a great deal for $700. It offers better performance, quality, and battery life.

Thanks, I’ll return the MSI and go for the Asus. It’s going back to Best Buy tomorrow.
@Hartley
That sounds unnecessary.
@Hartley
Absolutely, go for it!
@Peyton
Micro Center has a good deal on an Acer Nitro V right now for $699, featuring AMD Ryzen 7, 16GB RAM, NVIDIA RTX 4060, and a 1TB SSD.
This laptop’s GPU might not deliver the best performance.

I have a similar GPU and it performs well.

Is it the same laptop model?
MSI isn’t reliable anymore. Have you looked at Lenovo? They often offer installment payments through PayPal.
Just add an extra 1TB SSD for better performance. ‘Inland 1TB Performance Plus’ is a good option from Amazon for $75.

How will this improve the laptop?
