I am not sure if this is the correct place to post in, but there doesn’t appear to be a problem with my motherboard visibly, yet it won’t power on at all. It shut down at random, the screen went dark, and it never powered back on. Any advice?
For this, I would try a variety of items, not a “this WILL fix it” but more ways to attempt.
Disconnect the battery and cmos, and unhook all storage and RAM. Hold the power button down for roughly 30 seconds, then reconnect the batteries, cmos, and charger to see if you get anything. It could also be a bad charger. If you have a multimeter, check it.
I’d then attempt a variety of methods, like holding down the power button, connecting devices, and so on, some with buttons pressed and others without. My impression is this was a defect, and it’s dead, but maybe it’ll come back.
Also, what generation was the CPU?
Ryzen 7 5800h, therefore I believe it is a generation 2 architecture. I’ve done much of what you recommended, but I’ll try unplugging all RAM and SSDs.
Okay, I simply wanted to make sure none of the intells were killing themselves.
Check the charger voltage and perhaps try to acquire the battery voltage as well.
They’re both good. I have tested them.
Use a multimeter to look for a short circuit on the main power line. Then, check for short circuits on the inductors.
What happened before it died? It could have been overheated.
The temperatures were moderate, ranging around 80 degrees. I was playing a game when the screen went dark and did not turn back on. That’s all that happened, basically.
