It’s hard to say without knowing the specific model and specifications of your laptop.

My apologies for not including that information.
Typically, you can upgrade the RAM and SSD. Upgrading the CPU isn’t really feasible. If you’re looking for better performance, you might consider getting a new laptop. Switching to Linux could also improve performance slightly.
@Bailey
Perhaps it’s time to consider a new laptop.

You might also consider upgrading the WiFi card.
You can upgrade the RAM by replacing the existing modules with higher capacity ones. If your laptop has a free SATA slot, you can add additional SSDs.

Are you sure there’s a free SATA port? It might require a proprietary cable.
@Bailey
The SATA port might be hidden; you might need a flexible cable to connect it to your motherboard. First, could you tell us your laptop model, like Lenovo ThinkPad or Dell XPS?

It’s a 2014 Hitachi Flora SE210.
You can upgrade the RAM, WiFi card, and the storage drive. Keep in mind, these upgrades might cost nearly as much as the laptop’s value.

Upgrading the WiFi card is often overlooked but can add Bluetooth functionality and improve connectivity at a low cost.
The WiFi card can usually be upgraded.
WiFi cards are upgradable, and you might consider WiFi 5 or even WiFi 7 with an adapter. Additionally, replace the HDD with an SSD and upgrade to 8GB of RAM for a noticeable improvement.

Thanks for the information!
If you’re planning to keep using the laptop for a while, I’d recommend upgrading the RAM and SSD.
Considering the age and specs, upgrading might not be cost-effective. DDR3 SODIMM and MSATA SSD are relatively pricey for what you get.

While those components aren’t very expensive in the U.S., investing in upgrades for an older model like yours might not be worth it.
@Kei
You could find a better, used laptop for around $100. That might be a better investment.
I like the layout of your laptop. What model is it?
