I don’t know much about laptops, but my boyfriend gave me one last year. Unfortunately, the screen started having issues, displaying black dots that move around like liquid inside. It’s still usable, though. The laptop is a Lenovo ThinkPad X390 with specs including 8 GB RAM, 512 SSD, an Intel Core i5-836U CPU at 1.60GHz, running Windows 11 Pro. What would be a fair offer for this laptop considering the screen issue?
A fair price range would be between $70 - $90 USD.
I’d pay $1000 to take it off your hands.

Is the condition really that bad? lol

No, it’s still usable for parts or you could just repair the screen.
@Tallis
Maybe give it a good wipe down too…

As long as you’re upfront about the screen issues, it shouldn’t be a problem.

It could also be worth selling for parts.
This laptop is definitely not worth more than $100 on a good day.
Start with $100 and see if anyone is interested. I would also post it on platforms like Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist.
It might be possible to fix the screen’s liquid issue, but if not, you could probably sell it for about $60-$90.

Just drain the old liquid and fill it up with fresh one. And while you’re at it, check the spark plugs too.
@Vero
Don’t forget to check the blinker fluids too.

Do you want the regular fluid or the halogen fluid?
Even in mint condition, it wouldn’t be worth much. Maybe $50? The SSD alone might be worth more separately.

This is the correct valuation.

I forgot about that, but unfortunately, there’s no edit button.

Maybe add the details as a comment instead.
Thinkpads are quite easy to modify compared to other laptops. You should be able to replace the screen relatively easily.
