Are you sure it supports 2.5-inch drives? Where is the SATA connector for them?
Are you referring to the WWAN module socket? The antenna cable is already prepared. If you wish to try installing an SSD, first make sure it supports M2 by reading the MANUAL. Also, what sort of M2 SSD is it, NVME or mSATA (if it supports either), and what size (2230 or 2242)? I don’t know, can’t tell).

I do not see any brackets. First and foremost, is there a SATA socket? I could not tell from the picture. Or does your laptop come with an additional connector for it?
As far as I can tell, the first image shows that the laptop only supports M.2/NVME disks with the socket located on the right side of the portion named (SSD) on the motherboard. What you bought in the second picture is a 2.5" normal SSD, not an M.2, and your laptop does not appear to support it or even have a bracket for it.
In other words, you must purchase an M.2 drive and transfer the 2.5" SSD in the second picture to a different laptop.
It appears that your laptop either did not come with the 2,5" installation pieces (bracket and connector) or is incompatible.
Given the 2,5" slot, I’d go with the first choice.
A bracket is not required for a SATA SSD; it will function properly and will not be damaged. You absolutely require the connector, which should be a SATA connector with a ribbon cable or a standard cable and connector to the motherboard.
Try searching for sata cable/connector to see if you can find the part you need.
I am finished with my HP255. Amazon charges roughly 5 euros. Now there is a 2 TB HDU with four internal backups.
It depends on how lengthy the SSD is.
