Can a Windows laptop perform better than a MacBook if they’re priced the same?

I have never been a Macbook user. Nor would I ever use a $1700 Windows laptop because a Windows desktop PC would be a better value for me at this price, particularly for gaming. I am merely asking out of curiosity. I am not sure which outperforms which. But if a Windows laptop outperforms a Macbook at the same price, say $1700, why do people choose a Macbook?

Honestly, Macs have an excellent media engine and battery life, but they fall behind Windows in terms of performance when each platform is fully optimized.

If you do not care about power consumption.

Macs still utterly suck at gaming.

Depends on what you do.

Consumers buy MacBooks in my opinion just because of excellent battery life, noise, thermals kind of, and the software itself.

You can buy a Windows computer that gives you more raw power depending on the program, but there are several disadvantages. Poor battery life, noise, and thermals. :unamused:

Also, start construction. I know people who have had the same MacBook for nearly ten years. You’re lucky to get 5 years with Windows, especially if it’s an HP or MSI; hinges will break after one year.

Are they really comparing laptops at the same price?

Windows laptops can be pretty durable. Dell, for example, makes rugged models built for construction sites or military use.

That does not signify much. Even the Asus Vivobook and Zenbooks have military standards, and their batteries are not as long-lasting as the MacBook. I do not know anything about Dell Latitude Rugged, but the last time I checked, they were large, heavy, thick, and cost $3500.

You need to seek around for the proper model, but they are easier to fix than a MacBook.

Dell Latitudes are more pricey, but they are waterproof.

24x7 operation with dual hot-swappable batteries with up to 25 hours of power life and Express Charge Boost for up to 35% charge in 20 minutes, allowing you to be always on.

No job is too tough for a laptop that can withstand temperatures ranging from -20°F to 145°F, drops from up to 3 feet, and is IP-53 rated for superior dust, filth, and water protection.

Have you ever questioned what “military standard” means nowadays? It is the cheapest option that still does the job.

And no, the person is asking for a price range of $1700. Dell laptops and Philips laptops cost four times more.

I am attempting to make a sale OP on these laptops, but you are correct. :slightly_smiling_face:
