Thinking of pulling the trigger and getting this for my son. He’s 9 years old and plays a lot of Roblox. The price is $474. Is it a decent deal? My gut says to go for it.
This is an incredible deal! I got this exact computer but with an RTX 3050 Ti instead of the 3050, and the screen was 16" instead of 14". Still, this is definitely a steal.

If your son doesn’t game much, that CPU is an amazing deal for the price. It’s incredibly powerful—actually, more powerful than the desktop CPU I’m about to build with a Ryzen 5 5600. The laptop will be fast as hell. The RTX 3050 is a pretty weak GPU, especially the non-Ti version, but at least it’s a dedicated GPU. What’s even more disappointing is that AMD makes great APUs, and the Ryzen 7 7735HS has an integrated GPU nearly as powerful as the RTX 3050 Mobile. But hey, at least your son can run Minecraft with ray tracing, something the integrated GPU can’t do.
Usually, I would say no, because 3050s are overpriced, especially laptop versions, but damn, that is a really good deal. Mega good deal.

This is a fine machine for a 9-year-old. He will love it.
This is amazing. I have the same one but with a 3k 120Hz screen. It’s fantastic as a daily driver and can handle some heavy gaming.

Great for Roblox, but it will struggle with modern titles at higher settings. Honestly, it should be fine for a 9-year-old, and it won’t break the bank.

I have the same laptop as the comment above. I’m pretty sure this one has a 6GB RTX 3050, which is slightly better.
Depends on the use. For FHD gaming, it’s okay-ish, but for educational/office use, it’s fantastic. High-quality laptop, although it’s an older-gen Ryzen (Zen 3+).
Lenovo is a solid brand. You could also buy 1 memory module and add it for about $100, and your laptop will have 32 GB of RAM. It would make for a decent gaming PC under $600.
For Roblox and less demanding games, it’s perfect. For the price, it’s absolutely a steal.

Yeah, it’s a great deal. I looked it up, and the original price is around $800 in the U.S. I’ve been searching for a good deal to replace my 10-year-old laptop. As a gamer sometimes, but mostly for editing, 3D, and learning programming, I think a 3060 would be better for me.
