Damn. That’s some redneck engineering right there. How is the difference in temps?
temps are really good but only adds around 3-5 fps without overclocking
and the worst part is that it sounds like a jet engine.

Man has a low need Ryzen CPU and thinks it needs to cool down? You just chopped up the laptop for nothing lol.
I don’t get it. Your Ryzen 3 overheating?

Hey, those 4 cores with that iGPU struggling over there, needs that fresh arm hair in the fan blades to cool down.

Laptop getting hot easily.
Kill it already.
I love the ingenuity of this! Looks awesome!
However… was your laptop having overheating problems to begin with? I know Ryzen chips already run fairly cool. And now your palm rest has a hole in it where your hands would rest while typing.
If I were you, I probably would have cut that hole on the bottom of the laptop and put some mesh over it. That way, the hole would be covered and typing wouldn’t be affected. Just my 2 cents.
@Adley
the hole was designed for 2 square fans that stick out, but I didn’t have anywhere to put them without clogging the intake. so they faced upwards and when closing the lid they slid inside the case
then I switched to this old laptop fan this is why its shaped like this.
I did this mod out of curiosity, it did lower the temps quite a lot but I didn’t overclock it
so basically it only stayed cool, it didn’t really add any performance.
It’s not a really good solution. Not only CPU needs cold air, but also some other components on the motherboard. If you don’t have such hole in the top case from factory - there is a reason for that because some engineers work to create optimal airflow in laptop.
oh no, I’m just imagining a trend where laptop manufacturers start putting vents on the top of the laptop rather than the bottom for better ventilation, and then it stops after a year when the company has to perform a bunch of RMAs because bits of Doritos keep clogging up everyone’s fans xD.
@Zane
So unimaginative with just the standard snack crumbles every time. What about the pubes, encrustified and subsequently powdered blobs of baby gravy, dessicated roach oothecas, scabs, and dried boogers?
@Maxwell
I worked in tech for a long time, I do not want to think of cum encrusted computers thanks, I’ve handled way too many of them .
@Maxwell
Lmao I work with computers that are often in close proximity to stuff like dangerous viral cell culture (measles, zika, mumps, etc.) work, and I’d much rather that than the pure vileness I’m sure you dealt with in consumer laptops.
@Zane
The Zephyrus does this, it’s pretty cool actually.

Depends on the model of Zephyrus. Most do not, I know the Zephyrus Duo does.

The Duo is the one I meant, yes.
I forgot to mention that I too am terrified of this new possible reality. I was too terrified to type it initially.
Now all you need is a funnel for the liquid nitrogen…
Holy shit hahahaha.
I no longer have any shame for my water cooling.
How are the improvements if any? Soldering such a small heatsink should be pretty easy.
We need more Frankenstein builds like this to improve heat dissipation.
