I’m planning to use this laptop for some games, but nothing too intense. What do you think?
4GB of RAM is really low for gaming, even light ones. You should aim for at least 8GB for an acceptable experience, and 16GB if you can stretch your budget. Even basic applications like Chrome can consume 2GB of RAM.
@Zephyr
Oh no, that’s disappointing to hear. Thanks for letting me know!
Which games are you planning to play? The requirements can vary a lot depending on the game. Generally, the storage and RAM you mentioned might be too low for many modern games.

I’m a bit shy about the games I play, but one of them requires about 15GB of storage.
4GB of RAM is barely enough to run Windows smoothly, let alone multitasking or gaming. For budget options, check this site for laptops with at least 8GB RAM: https://pcpartpicker.com/products/laptop/#sort=price&D=60
@Sam
Those look great but are out of my price range. Thanks anyway!
For gaming, I’d recommend at least 8GB of DDR4 RAM and a decent processor, maybe something like a Ryzen 5 3500u. Also, consider installing a lightweight OS like Linux Mint or Ubuntu to get better performance out of lower-end hardware.
@Arin
My budget is really tight, around $270 max, so I might need to look at second-hand options.

Here are some used laptop options that might fit your needs better. Check out these eBay listings: One, Two. For something more robust, look for models with a GTX 1060, which you might find locally within your budget.
@Orion
Thank you so much! These look promising.

Second-hand could be a good route. Sometimes you can find a decent Acer Nitro around $150.
If you’re open to building a PC instead, you could put together a decent setup for under $300 using integrated graphics, which can handle light gaming. Check out this parts list from PCPartPicker for some ideas: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/3FL6rM
@Sam
Building a PC would require additional peripherals like a monitor and keyboard, which could stretch your budget further.
It’s good for the price, but keep in mind it’s limited by 4GB of RAM, which is soldered on.

There’s a refurbished Lenovo IdeaPad on BestBuy that might be a better deal with 8GB of RAM. Here’s the link: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-ideapad-1-15amn7-15-6-laptop-ryzen-3-7320u-8gb-256gb-ssd-w11h-refurbished-abyss-blue/6567248.p?skuId=6567248
