Is this warning legitimate

Probably just need a reboot.

Seriously, why are you still using that browser? Uninstall it, switch to a more secure one, and install a good ad blocker.

What’s wrong with using that browser? Is it not okay to use?

@Nova
No, it’s not recommended.

This is just your browser, I’ve seen similar things happen on my phone.

You might need more than just technical help here; who uses that browser anymore? Please consider switching to a better one. This warning is real, and it looks like your system could be compromised.

That browser is actually better than some others like Opera GX and Chrome, in my opinion.

Uninstall your antivirus and turn off notifications in your browser.

What exactly did you click on?

It’s a virus, don’t interact with it.

Don’t worry, I’m fine now. All I did was reset my browser and deny permissions. I had antivirus installed beforehand; I didn’t install it from the popup. It was a sketchy file in one of the mods I downloaded. I got too comfortable downloading mods without problems and didn’t check carefully this time. I don’t know much about computers, just that they are sensitive to viruses if not protected with some kind of VPN or antivirus software. Thanks for the help, everyone.

Just clear your browser settings.

Why don’t more people block all permissions on their browsers by default? Just whitelist the sites you actually trust. And remember, don’t agree to anything suspicious even if the prompt seems legitimate. If it’s from an unknown source, any button you press could lead to trouble.

Is this for real? Are you joking?

Never underestimate how naive some people can be when it comes to technology.

One time I came home to find my dad on the phone with someone who had remote access to his computer, trying to help them log into his bank account for ‘tech support’. I understand not everyone is tech-savvy, but that’s just reckless.
