Play games with this integrated graphics system?

I am considering a ThinkPad L14 G5 for work, light video and photo editing (mainly for social media like Instagram), and casual gaming.

I have two main concerns:

Is the Integrated AMD Radeon 680M sufficient for light video editing and casual gaming (games like Terraria, Tricky Towers, and some simulator games)?

Is this laptop upgradable? I’d like to add more RAM and storage in the future since 16GB and 512GB might not be enough for my needs.

Thanks in advance for any answers!

Actually, surprisingly enough ab_channel=zWORMzGaming and the video link is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVE9OZaitWk.

Whoa, these are really graphic games! I appreciate you sharing these.

A respectable rise over the Steam Deck is 680M. Thus, yes, everything that functions on Steam Deck will function well on this.

I am grateful for the info

My 610m can run AAA games on low settings. So they can run without any problems.

Awesome! Many thanks.

There is no way a 610m can run AAA on low settings. Vega suffers, and the 610m is a significant step down from that.

Mine runs on games like saint row rebooted, calisto protocol, industria, and the evil inside with 30fps.

The 610m was a disappointment, with up to 50% less GPU performance in some games compared to previous vega GPUs, such as the 5500u.

Amazingly, this can run AAA games, albeit at low settings. I got a 780m myself and was quite amazed with what it can achieve when maxing tdp.

Yes, AMD integrated graphics are significantly superior than Intel’s.

The 680m is presently the second strongest input on the market, trailing only the 780m, which is used in the Lenovo Legion Go and Rog Ally, both dedicated gaming devices.

They’re getting close to the RTX 2050 in terms of sheer performance.

Yes, this can definitely run some games. Not triple a max graphics, but you can get almost anything to run well with low graphics. There’s a list pinned to my profile that includes games that run in the Lenovo Legion Go’s balanced mode, which is around the same power as the 680m.

You also have a relatively high-end RAM configuration. Large enough and relatively fast. Also upgradeable. That, along with a sufficiently powerful CPU, and you’re looking at a pretty
a decent device.

It is a long list.
