Rate this old laptop I just gave to my kids

This laptop is still working strong after over 25 years! The screen is a bit on the light side, even after adjusting the contrast, but it’s still a sturdy piece of technology. I’m passing it down to my kids now. Quite the nostalgia trip!

This beast’s battery life beats my Thinkpad.

It takes a whopping 4 A-Batteries, those big round ones that are almost never used anymore. I’m curious to see how long they last. My kids play with it for about an hour a day.

@Briley
At least a week, I think, LOL.

That could be a cool project for r/cyberdeck.

I just found that sub. It’s impressive what people are doing there. Sadly, I’m not tech-savvy enough to try something like that.

@Briley
Same here, but I’m open to learning. This stuff gets me pretty excited!

Can it run Crysis tho?

But can it run DOOM?

No viruses, no web browsers eating up all the RAM, just games. Can’t get much better than that, right?

It really brought back so many memories for me.

5/10

It should run AAA games at 180 fps – congrats OP!

It takes a whopping 4 big A-batteries… so ‘technically’ it should run AAAA games.

1000/10, cool af.

They really need to bring these old guys back for us.

It looks damn cool, that’s for sure.

The screen is way too small, but it looks super easy to repair and very durable.

Is that the new Macbook Pro with the new M4 processor? I’m glad they’re not pitching their products for professionals anymore and are just targeting the spoiled kids market.
