Yes, it might as well be a bomb. Turning it on could potentially cause a massive explosion, wiping out your entire bloodline.

That’s the whole issue. The photos were checked but turned out to be highly misleading.

Sometimes they send you a brick in the box. Why bother posting fake photos when they can just send you a brick? Do you think a scammer would post accurate photos? Think again.
