Well, my laptop isn’t broken, but I certainly don’t want to close it. Is it even worth getting it repaired? (Lenovo Ideapad 3, only 3 years old) Just noticed it today

You need new hinges ASAP before the whole case explodes. Also, check if the battery isn’t swollen.

Will check for sure. The battery should be fine, but I’ll know for sure when I take the back off.

That’s just a plastic cover held by plastic clips. The actual casing of the lid seems to be intact, at least based on the image.

Gotcha. It’s making creaking and popping noises when I close and open it, so I was concerned and decided to check.

I mean, technically it is broken if it needs repairing.

I meant more so that my laptop is still operational. I can still get work done on it. But I understand, I’m obviously going to have to take this thing apart and figure out what the issue is exactly. I’ve never run into this problem with any of my laptops before, and I’ve never been rough on them. This laptop has mostly just sat on my desk and has barely been closed and opened, so it was odd to see this issue.
