Why is MacBook Pro so much more expensive? Genuinely curious

Because there is someone willing to buy it. There’s more to consider than just the SSD and RAM when buying a laptop, like CPU, battery life, build quality, thinness, and GPU. The Mac is excellent, but you can find better for the price. However, Macs are generally easier to resell.

Support is a huge plus. Finding an Apple Store for help is way easier than dealing with phone support reading from a script.

If you seriously believe that, you’re drinking the kool-aid.

Biggest lie I’ve heard. Mine didn’t even last a year; I had to get a refund.

@Linden
I might have been exaggerating due to personal bias. My apologies! :sweat_smile:

@Linden
So, because that happened to you, everyone else’s experience isn’t valid? lol

I’ve been using the same Dell laptop since 2010, while my wife has gone through three MacBooks.

Electronics come with warranties because nothing is guaranteed.

It’s kind of ridiculous when you can get the same chip in a Mac Mini for $599. Sure, the MacBook has a screen, keyboard, and battery, but not $1500 worth of them.

Because it’s a Mac. No other reason, I guess.

Funny thing is, most people buying $2K MacBooks are just using them to check email and watch YouTube.

It depends on what you’re comparing it to. Does that $650 laptop have a metal body, great battery life, or an amazing screen like a MacBook? Higher-end laptops like Dell XPS have similar features and cost more than $650.

Apple’s M-series chips compete with AMD and Intel desktop CPUs, achieving impressive performance at just 50 watts. Their integrated GPUs are also strong, though not enough for gaming.
