Should i be worried?

Well just added another stick of 8gb 3200mhz kingston ram to this dell inspiron 15 3000series (3501) and reformated the laptop
In the process of reformatting it has blue screen several times. Took out the ram and it still blue screened soo im not sure is the laptop just broken… and why is there the lines on the screen, i just replaced it

Yes, it could possibly mean you have been hacked, this can be caused by a dangerous virus, hence the only solution is to stop worrying because I was joking and this is a normal issue called BSOD.

Fr :sob:

If I see right it seems it has some artifacts? Could be the GPU dying, although I hope it’s not

Idk I mean at this point there’s really no point in continuing to use the laptop if it’s dying, like you just risk losing everything, I’d backup and change it asap

@Linden
Before i reformated it was working fine soo alittle confused was it the new ram i added in?

Hmm it seems strange but at this point it could be(?), I mean the igpu runs on the dram so if the dram is faulty or not compatible it could cause issues I guess

Either the screen or your GPU is failing

Was working perfectly in windows before i went to reset it so i doubt its the screen. Anyway to bypass the bluescreen though?

But then… Your laptop is kinda notorious for unreliable screens

@Mika
Actually not my laptop. My friend passed it to me to help him upgrade his ram hdd and fix his screen. Which has all been done when he asked me to reformat his laptop which is where im stuck
